Is Parcelforce express 48 Safe?

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

parcelforce11 Is Parcelforce express 48 Safe?As part of our commitment to not only answer customer questions, but also to improve our offerings, we always look through the list of questions that people ask about courier services. One of the ones that caught my eye was someone asking whether the Parcelforce Express 48 service was safe?

I think the first thing to remember that Parcelforce is owned by the Royal Mail Group Ltd and as such has strict and rigorous policies and procedures to make sure that any parcel sent via their service meets the requirements of their and our customers and have won a number of awards in the past.

Every parcel we send via this two day service or their Parcelrforce 24 is signed for and tracked, which gives you the peace of mind to monitor its progress through the network.

Now, no courier service can meet their customers’ expectations 100% and on very rare occasions things do go wrong – just like with any business. But we do have a dedicated team to put any issues right and we do offer  carriage guarantee cover which relates to items lost or damaged (please see our terms of carriage and list of prohibted items).

Furthermore, in our list of customer reviews, we very rarely see any issues relating to Parcelforce – and that is possibly the best measure of the safeness of the Parcelforce system.

9am Courier Collection

sameday 9am Courier CollectionYou may be asking if you can specify a time for a parcel to be collected? Well, of course you can.

Let’s say you work night shifts and you get back home for about 8:30 and you’re still going to be awake whilst you unwind from a hectic evening working away, but you need to send some parcels, perhaps for Christmas or birthdays to loved ones? Normally it’d be a case of stopping off on your way home and braving the rush-hour traffic and the queues to send your parcel at the Post Office. It might even be raining, and parking could be difficultt …

… but life doesn’t have to be that way.

If sending a parcel by same day delivery is ok with you, and why shouldn’t it be with prices from £5.60, then you can specify a 15 minute time slot for your parcel to be collected – how convenient is that? You wait in, possibly with a cup of tea and slippers and just wait for that friendly knock on the door.

Next Clothing Returns

Tuesday, August 9th, 2011

next1 Next Clothing ReturnsNext have reduced the length of time you can return unwanted items from 10 day to just 8 days and that includes the time it takes for the clothes to get to you, so you don’t really have a great length of time to “try before you buy”. The upside, however, is that you can return the clothes to your local Next store with the delivery note [Terms and Conditions apply].

Furthermore, Next insist that you use their courier company and charged at £3.99 per collection (if you don’t do a store return) and you have to use this method if you’re returning large bulky items. Also items that are made to measure or specific to your requirements as well as cosmetics, food and alcohol can’t be returned.

To arange delivery visit your account on the Next website.

Apple Products And Courier Compensation

Monday, August 8th, 2011

macbook Apple Products And Courier CompensationAt Parcel Monkey we try and make our courier services as cheap as possible for our customers and as such we have to mitigate risk. Just as some airlines offer a no-frills service where you could seemingly fly to Spain for the price of a Boot’s meal deal, we too have to make certain sacrifices – one of those is understanding impact of compensating for loss and damage of Apple Inc. products.

Other parcel delivery companies have a list of “non-compensation” items which broadly matches our own list such as guitars, televisions, porcelain and glass which all may be fairly obvious. However, we feel it wise to point out that this list also contains Apple products:

  • Apple iMac
  • Apple iPad
  • Aple Macbook
  • Apple Macbook Pro
  • Apple Powermac

That list isn’t exhaustive (please check out our T&C’s for more information), but we’d thought you’d like to know that our published list of no-compensation items currently stands at just 54, compared to similar companies who have lists as long as 85 – even though we’re cheaper.

If you think this may be a problem for you, you could contact our help team, or just scan through the list of over 25,000 customer reviews to see how others feel about our service.
