You’re probably thinking that there’ll be a huge price difference from our normal services. For a next day service where that day is a weekday you’re usually looking at £5.85+vat (terms and conditions apply) whilst a Saturday delivery is generally only £8.50+vat. Other sites wil charge you a staggering £19.99!

With our Satuday service you’ll get online parcel tracking and free collection from your doorstep. That’s right – we’ll collect your parcel and deliver it on a Saturday all for £8.50 – for parcels up to 30kg. Find out if you qualify here.

What’s The Best Courier For Shipping A Guitar?

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

Three guitars and casesNot until we saw Not_the_DJ post about how they’ve used us to send guitars via us did we realise how many we help be shipped across the country, and occasionally into Europe and beyond.

As you can imagine, Guitars are often people’s pride and joy, but as Not_the_DJ points out, they should be packaged properly. We’ve put together some packaging tips to help, but in terms of the best courier to ship a guitar, that really depends on the size of the guitar and where you’re sending it. Domestically you can send via City Link, ParcelForce and Nightfreight. Whilst if you’d like to ship a guitar to Europe and further then we currently offer a DHL service (and a great new courier company coming soon).

Because we offer a range of couriers and delivery options, the most appropriate may be different each time you send one. Taking a standard ‘Fender’ style guitar case as a base you’re looking at a length of about 110cm, a width of about 40cm, a depth of 30cm and a weight of around 14kg you could (at today’s prices) get a:

  • next day delivery for just £7.44+vat with City Link.
  • if you’d like that also by 6pm the next day but with a money back guarantee that would be £10.80+vat.
  • also with City Link you have a range of other delivery times such as before 9am, before noon and on Saturday.
  • for a same day collection service which you need to book by 10:30am that day it would be just £8.37+vat.
  • for those of you who prefer to use Parcelforce you could use Parcelforce 24 for £11.99+vat or Parcelforce 48 for £10.99.
  • and as another option, for those of you who prefer Nightfreight this would be for £20.49.

Choosing a courier to send a guitar isn’t as complicated as it may appear. You just add the correct dimensions to the courier quote form, choose the delivery country, and then just choose the level of service or how long the delivery should take and it’s as simple as that.

How To Send Parcels Using Parcel Monkey

Friday, March 11th, 2011

parcel How To Send Parcels Using Parcel MonkeyIf you’ve always toddled down to the Post Office to send parcels in the past, you’ll usually get there and look at the traffic and lack of parking and wondered if there’s another way. And, of course, there is. There’s the Parcel Monkey way. With petrol prices seemingly climbing every day, wouldn’t it be more economical to let a courier pick up your parcel from your home or office and save the money it would have cost to drive down to the Post Office for yourself. Not only that, as we arrange the collection of many thousands of parcels per day it’ll probably work out better for the environment too – as we’ll probably have a courier passing past your door at some time during the day anyway.

So you’ve decided that it’s more convenient to send a parcel online. But how easy is it? Well it’s as easy as buying a book online. First off you’ll need to get yourself a courier quote which is as simple as selecting which country you’d like the parcel to be delivered too and its dimensions. You’ll then get a price and a selection of service levels such as next day, by 6pm Parcelforce 24, ParcelForce 48 and Saturday delivery. It’s actually a lot simpler than it looks as we give a service summary next to the price. Simply choose the level, and add your details, the recipients’ details and your payment information. We’ll then send you a label to print out and attach your parcel. We’ll then come and collect it and get your parcel shipped.

We’ve got all the tracking information available, as well as the relevant contact information, and everything else you’d need within the system – it couldn’t be easier. It normally takes less than five minutes to book a parcel with Parcel Monkey.

Not only do we now offer you the ridiculous price of £4.50+vat for a cheap small item parcel delivery where the item should fit into a 50cm x 40cm polythene bag but also weigh no more than 10kg. But we’ve also teamed up with City Link to offer a “Premier” service which is the lowest cost option for people and business that send volumes of parcels via couriers. To qualify for this service you only need to send ten or more parcels per week.

However, most people will use the range of traditional couriers services such as the City Link Express which is a next day service with delivery before 6pm the next day. We can all offer the “City Link Timed” courier service which is next day before 12 noon Monday to Friday and a Saturday service. The courier prices will be dependent on the levels of services you require and the dimensions and weight of the parcel you would like City Link to courier.
