Do Parcels Have To Be Boooked Online? What About By Telephone?

Friday, January 27th, 2012

Fullscreen capture 21112011 154307 Do Parcels Have To Be Boooked Online? What About By Telephone?Parcel Monkey is a fast, efficient parcel delivery booking process because it is entirely conducted online. All you need to do is place the dimensions of the parcel into the quote form, choose which service you’d like, add in the collection and collection details, give some information about the contents of the parcel, read and understand the prohibited items list and Terms and Conditions, pay, use the shipping label (in most circumstances) and hand over your parcel to the courier – that’s it. An expensive call centre would just obfuscate this process. We do have clear help files should you need them, however.

After you’ve placed your order you’re free to call the relevant City Link depot if you’ve missed a collection or would like to drop your parcel off. But this would only be the case for a small fraction of customers.

People use Parcel Monkey because the process of booking a parcel to be delivered is fast and efficient, and that can only be done with a self-service, automated, online system.

Can I Send Chocolate By Parcel Monkey?

Friday, January 6th, 2012

broken easter egg Can I Send Chocolate By Parcel Monkey? This is another question we occasionally get, so I thought I’d do a quick blog post answering it.

The quick answer is “no”. This is because that items that can be easily damaged are too much of risk to send are generally included in our prohibited items list. At this time of year people may be thinking about shipping Valentine’s chocolates through the post and in the near future people may be sending out Easter eggs – they’re just too susceptible to damage to be confidently shipped.

And in the very cold winter months its not the shock damage that can occur during transit, but also something called “temperature shock” which can occur where the fats in the chocolate can be raised to the surface of the chocolate which effectively spoils it. Furthermore, you’ve also got the problem of melting in summer.

It’s just safer if we don’t ship chocolate for you.

What Is The Best Parcel Delivery Firm For Small Businesses?

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

blog fulfilment What Is The Best Parcel Delivery Firm For Small Businesses?Of course that’s a leading question. Because we’ve worked incredibly hard on our service and technology we’re obviously going to say its Parcel Monkey. But why? Here are a few reasons why I’d say we’re the best parcel delivery firm for small business.

Save Time
Firstly if you’re a website owner retailing your wares online then we have an API that integrates seamlessly into your operations so that parcel delivery collections are booked automatically – which means that you don’t have to programme each order in individually.

Simplicity
We spend many hours poring over data of how people use our website, which services get used and our critiquing reviews to make the process of booking a courier collection is as simple, straightforward and as easy to use as possible. We know you’ve got better things to be doing with your time than working out how to book a parcel, so we view saving you time as a priority.

Cheap Prices
Of course something we pride ourselves on is our supremely cheap parcel delivery prices. We know that in today’s age that getting the cheapest deal is of paramount importance for you so we also spend a great deal of time working with our courier partners to try and get you the best deal. We actually have someone employed specifically to try and keep our prices as low as possible.

A Package Just For You
For customers shipping more than ten items every week we have Parcel Monkey Premier which gives you access to even lower rates – yes I low rates get even lower for business customers.

A Global Presence
If you have customers around the world we help you service their needs quickly, efficiently and cheaply. Within the same system as domestic deliveries you can book parcels to be sent to far-flung destinations – from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.

We’re Here For The Long Run
At Parcel Monkey we never rest on our laurels. We’re currently in the process of opening up offices abroad – with an operation offering parcel delivery in India already helping many companies there ship parcels around the world as constantly trying to improve our operations and systems. We’ll certainly only get bigger and better.

We Listen
We have a team responding to and solving customer issues. We’d rather be the ones to solve problems than you – you’ve already got enough to do.

If you ship over ten parcels a week and would like to cut the cost of your parcel delivery service, let us help you.

Sending Documents To China

Sunday, November 13th, 2011

greatwall Sending Documents To ChinaIt must be a sign of the times in that many British companies are doing a lot of business in China as we are getting a growing number of questions about sending documents, legal or otherwise, to China.

Although we have a small packet rate for domestic deliveries via our partners City Link, we don’t have a specific service level for these small items for international deliveries. But we do offer incredibly low prices for sending light parcels to China.

If you can box your parcels, or even use postal boxes which can be bought from most stationers quite cheaply, then we could deliver your documents to China for £17.99 if they’re 1kg or there-abouts. This is on a two to three day service which I think you’ll agree is very cheap. Looking elsewhere it would cost £3.19 via TNT Express, FedEx World Express would charge £38.80 and our friends with the voucher codes would charge £29.13 for the same service – a staggering £11.14 (62%) more expensive!

You can find out how much we can save you here.
